why a retinol?

Vitamin A has been proven to be effective in the fight against acne, aging and uneven skin tone. Although effective, topically applied retinoic acid can often cause irritation in many skin types. In order to maximize the proven retinoid benefits while minimizing downsides, PCA SKIN® created pure retinol formulations with additional ingredients proven to also mitigate the aforementioned conditions. The result is two highly effective and well-rounded formulations designed to deliver unparalleled results.

Daily use of PCA SKIN’s new Intensive Age Refining Treatment: 0.5% pure retinol night or Intensive Clarity Treatment: 0.5% pure retinol night, both with 0.5% pure retinol, provides dramatic, visible results. Because of their powerful formulations, patients should be advised to apply the product most appropriate for their skin only twice a week, to begin. Once the patient’s skin becomes accustomed to the pure retinol content, you can then increase the dose, working up to daily, nighttime use.

The unique aspect of these formulations and what sets them apart from the rest is the fact that they are tailored to address specific skin types and conditions. Retinoid products are often made with a “one-size-fits-all” mentality. Those types of products can be successful for some, but not for others. PCA’s specially formulated retinol products deliver stabilized, pure retinol in conjunction with ingredients designed to provide additional benefits, depending on the formulation chosen. Most skin types and conditions can benefit from the use of a retinol in their daily care regimen.
